A meeting place for play, activities, and socializing. Sommartorget continues to thrive, transforming Lilla torget into a living room for both younger and older city strollers.
FOR HANGING OUT. For the sixth summer in a row, Lilla torget in central Oskarshamn transforms into a delightful and beloved place for play and activities, with plenty of cool spots to hang out. Here, you can play kubb, challenge someone to a game of tic-tac-toe, or simply relax in a sun lounger. The environments are well-utilized and appreciated by visitors. We like to think of the city center as a living room. Sommartorget, along with other embellishments of Lilla torget throughout the year, is our way of offering a joyful welcome to everyone visiting Oskarshamn,” says place developer Titti Falk at Attractive Oskarshamn. Last summer, Playful Tuesdays were introduced, which brought additional activities to Sommartorget. Throughout six Tuesday afternoons during summer vacation, the square is filled with extra activities for children and young people on various themes. Those who enjoy live music should mark Thursdays on their calendar for Sommartorget. On five occasions in July, there will be delightful live music for all ages.
MORE SQUARES. It’s not just Sommartorget that creates activities and opportunities for gatherings and socializing in central Oskarshamn. Lilla torget also undergoes transformations during winter break, Valentine’s Day, Easter, and Halloween, with the aim of contributing to a vibrant city center.
- We have received a lot of appreciation for our efforts on the square. It’s about creating activities and decorations in the center for both residents and visitors, explains place developer Titti Falk.
